Continuing its mission to strengthen Information Security in the Philippines, the Information Security Officers Group (ISOG) will hold two key events as part of its 2022 I AM SECURE cybersecurity awareness campaign.
ISOG will hold the 2022 METAVERSE I AM SECURE Virtual Forum on May 19, June 23, July 21, and Sept. 1. It will also hold its first Cybersecurity Excellence Awards on Oct. 27 at the Shangri-La at the Fort.
At the helm of these cybersecurity events is ISOG vice president and 2022 Forum and Awards chair Mr. Chito Jacinto. His years of experience as former chief information security officer (CISO) of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) led him to his advocacy of strengthening cybersecurity in the country’s financial industry.
At present, Jacinto promotes cybersecurity awareness as an adjunct lecturer for De LaSalle-College of Saint Benilde’s Executive Diploma Program in Cybersecurity. As a cybersecurity educator, he plays an important role in upholding ISOG’s basic tenets of education and awareness of information security practices for our members and clients, inter-institutional incident response, and intelligence sharing on critical information such as the latest operational methods cybercriminals.
“At ISOG, we ensure that we are always at the forefront of issues and trends related to cybersecurity,” Mr. Jacinto said. “One of the technology trends that we should prepare for as guardians of cyberspace is the Metaverse. As the metaverse is a digital ecosystem that can be vulnerable to privacy issues and security risks, it’s important for security professionals to keep abreast of this digital trend. Through the ‘Metaverse I Am Secure Forum,’ we will provide the delegates with experts’ insights that may come in handy as we pursue our cybersecurity mission in an unpredictable user engagement environment like the Metaverse.”
ISOG Cybersecurity Excellence Awards
With the theme “Traversing Beyond the Realm of Cyberspace.” the virtual forum will gather local and international decision-makers, experts, and cyber leaders to learn the latest and most engaging solutions for the challenges in the Metaverse.
ISOG will also go beyond its usual realm of cybersecurity programs by launching the first ISOG Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. Through this awarding ceremony, ISOG will honor outstanding Filipino cybersecurity experts, products, and institutions who have made significant contributions to the local and global cybersecurity field.
“Aside from equipping our members with new knowledge, we also aim to promote excellence in the field of cybersecurity by recognizing the commitment and capabilities of outstanding individuals, processes, and institutions in the ISOG Awards. We encourage cybersecurity professionals to participate in this event,” said Mr. Archie Tolentino, president, ISOG.
As it continues to help organizations strengthen cyber resilience, ISOG invites all information security professionals across the country to participate in their upcoming events to be organized by XMS.
